Sustainable Sea Transport
The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is leveraging value-chain stakeholder collaboration to accelerate the transition to a multi-fuel future for marine bunkering.
Singapore is also developing a network of green and digital shipping corridors to pilot solutions to enhance the resilience, efficiency and sustainability of global supply chains. To support the adoption of zero and near-zero emission fuels and technologies, MPA and 22 partners, including the top five maritime engine manufacturers globally, have established the Maritime Energy Training Facility (METF). The METF aims to close the skills and competencies gap for the safe operation of new zero or near-zero emission-powered vessels.
As a major maritime hub, Singapore continues to actively support the efforts led by the International Maritime Organisation to reduce international transport emissions.
