About

COP28 UAE

COP is short for "Conference of the Parties", the main decision-making body of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). COP meets annually, where it gathers world leaders together to determine climate ambition and responsibilities, identify and assess climate measures and develop climate change solutions to meet the goals of the Paris Agreement.

COP28 UAE takes place from 30 Nov to 12 Dec 2023 at Expo City, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The COP28 Presidency will focus on real world solutions that close the gaps to 2030 and respond to the Global Stocktake. COP28 will emphasise an innovative and inclusive approach to climate action.

Singapore Pavilion
Accelerating Collective Climate Action

Singapore, uniquely placed in Asia, is a trusted regional and international partner bringing collaborators and solutions together to meet the global goals of keeping 1.5°C alive and achieving net zero by 2050.

Working within a strong ecosystem of public-private climate change actors and through the Singapore Green Plan 2030, Singapore is developing and scaling innovative solutions that help the region and beyond decarbonise and adapt to the impacts of climate change.

Singapore's decisive stand on putting plan into action with strong partners makes a green transition possible. The Singapore Pavilion at COP28 UAE showcases some of these collaborative solutions that support global climate action.

Together, we can make a difference.

Green Initiatives
Inspiring Collective Climate Action

Climate change can only be tackled effectively by a concerted international effort. Every country needs to play its part for the Paris Agreement goals to be achieved.

Singapore is a low-lying city-state vulnerable to rising sea levels, heat and extreme weather events wrought by climate change. Our access to alternative energy is also constrained. Despite these challenges, Singapore has raised our climate ambition and aims to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 as part of our Long-Term Low-Emissions Development Strategy (LEDS).

Climate Leaders' Assembly
The New Frontier of Climate Action

The Climate Leaders’ Assembly will take place on the sidelines of COP28, on 30 Nov 2023. The event will focus on key topics that can accelerate the global movement to net zero and Asia’s active role in that imperative.

Convening 150 global leaders across borders and sectors from finance, business, investment and NGOs, the guestlist has been curated to maximise synergistic connections between participants.

A keynote speech and panel will be followed by an “unconference”-styled roundtable discussion. Participants will be encouraged to contribute by sharing a project or opportunity on financing the transition, technology solutions and creating partnerships towards net zero.
