Sustainable Land Transport
Singapore is actively pursuing sustainability across the land, maritime and air transport domains.
To reduce emissions from the land transport system, the Land Transport Authority has actively encouraged the use of public transport and active mobility. These include building around 1,300km of cycling paths islandwide by 2030 and repurposing suitable stretches of road into wider footpaths, cycling paths or bus lanes.
Singapore is also transitioning towards a cleaner-energy vehicle population, with a vision for all vehicles to run on cleaner energy by 2040.
