NUS Cities is a university-wide, interdisciplinary entity within the College of Design and Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Our mission is to create an open and inclusive platform for education, research and advisory services, tackling the complex challenges of today’s urban environments.
Our core team comprises distinguished faculty, adjunct experts and seasoned practitioners from NUS and other leading universities and industries worldwide. By leveraging this wealth of knowledge and experience, NUS Cities integrates diverse perspectives and expertise to foster innovative solutions for sustainable and resilient urban development.

2. Advisory Pillar
The NUS Cities Advisory Pillar provides advisory services and capability development programmes.
Our advisory services draw on our diverse disciplinary expertise and extensive research in urban systems. We offer expert guidance in urban sustainability and resilience, climate change adaptation, low carbon transition and development, and master planning.

SDE4, Singapore’s first new-build Positive Energy building, is the first university building in the world to attain WELL Certified™ gold.
The energy-efficient retrofit of NUS Yusof Ishak House, a heritage university hub, extends the life of the building and innovates for sustainability.
3. The Cities Programme
The 10-day Cities Programme by NUS Cities, a university-wide, interdisciplinary entity within the College of Design and Engineering at the National University of Singapore, equips participants with the knowledge and network necessary to spearhead sustainable and inclusive solutions for cities.
This programme ensures the resilience and vitality of our cities for generations to come. As more megacities rise in Asia and beyond, there is a growing need for professionals to be well-versed in the complexities of governing cities to ensure they are liveable and sustainable.
