From Singapore to Amazon: Breakthroughs in Rainforest Conservation with XPrize
Singapore, with its City in Nature vision, hosted the XPrize Rainforest semi-finals in 2023. Teams had 24 hours to showcase their groundbreaking technologies to discover biodiversity insights in the Central Catchment Nature Reserve.
One year on, in a remote Amazonian forest in Brazil, these finalists vied for a S$10 million prize using their markedly improved technologies. The technologies catalysed by this prize will revolutionise the way biodiversity is studied and contribute to an impact phase, which will set the stage for transformative environmental impact, blending innovative technology with the pressing need for rainforest conservation globally.
