To achieve net zero globally, Southeast Asia must grow while decarbonising its energy and power sectors. The size of the region's economies, as well as its power demand, are set to triple by 2050. However, fossil fuel plants still power majority of the Southeast Asia countries - contributing to 75% of its power supply.
Southeast Asia must attract much greater energy sector investment to accelerate its clean energy transition and meet the rising demand for energy services.
The panel discussion will focus on emerging clean energy project opportunities in Southeast Asia, how investors and businesses can complement public financing to unlock these opportunities, and learnings from the clean energy transitions of Southeast Asia and other emerging regions.
