Developing Climate Resilient Cities in Asia: The How's, Why's and So What's - 07 Nov 2022

A 1.5°C future require urgent, scalable action by numerous global stakeholders including those based in cities and settlements. In Asia, where urbanisation rates will significantly increase over the next 30 years, the concentrations of people and key infrastructure will lead to increased climate risks, but paradoxically, also increases the potential for Asian cities to enable climate resilient outcomes to occur.

How can Asian cities reduce biodiversity losses, climate risks and greenhouse gas emissions, while attaining sustainable development outcomes? We invite you to attend this panel comprising of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) authors who will present the principles of climate resilient development, explain why they are important in Asian cities, and discuss how can be achieved through policies and involvement of multiple municipal agencies and stakeholders.
