Supporting Singapore Enterprises on Sustainability

The Enterprise Sustainability Programme (ESP), launched in 2021, supports Singapore enterprises to strengthen capabilities in sustainability and capture opportunities in the green economy.

Companies starting out can attend subsidised training courses developed jointly with industry practitioners. The courses aim to help business leaders build awareness and knowledge in sustainability and decarbonisation, thus providing a foundation for them to lead sustainability efforts. To complement the courses, a series of sustainability playbooks covering foundational, sectoral and thematic aspects are also being developed to explain key concepts and outline practical steps that companies can take to become more sustainable.

Enterprises that are ready to embark on capability building can receive support to implement projects in sustainability strategy, resource optimisation, standards adoption and sustainable product development. Companies developing green technologies and solutions can also benefit from the Enterprise Financing Scheme-Green (EFS-Green), which facilitates access to green financing from financial institutions. In 2023, additional support will also be provided to help companies access carbon accounting tools to facilitate decarbonisation.

The ESP also works with and supports industry partners – including trade associations, large corporates and service providers – to implement sustainability capability building programmes that can benefit Singapore enterprises and the business ecosystem. Enterprises can benefit from programmes with leading organisations, including Schneider Electric, the Carbon Disclosure Project and UN Global Compact Network Singapore, to build their capabilities in sustainability and decarbonisation.
